The artificial lake of river Ladon

An addition of beauty in a magical landscape of the Greek land! Created 53 years before, in an effort for overall development of the province. Part of the construction cost, which had duration of 4 years (1951-1955), was covered by the Italian government as a form of war compensation. The waters of the lake, through the dam, supply the hydroelectric plant, which is slightly lower.

The lake is a true jewel for the province of Gortynia, but also for all the greek countryside. Although it has not yet achieved comprehensive development and promotion, the place accepts many visitors who are seeking pure emotions. This isa place where you can feel free!
